  1. I feel like a big way to be more green was left out. Actually use your
    pumpkin for more than a jack-o-lantern. If you carve it the afternoon of
    Halloween, it will still be quite fresh the next day. Just pop it in the
    microwave to cook the pumpkin flesh, then cut out the dry parts where you
    had carved and peel off the skin. You’ll be left with tons of great cooked
    pumpkin that you could use for pie, soup, or freeze for later.
