ok so heres the deal… my friend really thing she is going to win this. like she said that she will def win it. and she is like already planning everything! i dont know what to tell her. i told her that she shouldn’t get her hopes up to high because then she will be depressed when she doesnt win. What should i do? could she even win?
There’s always a chance – but then the laws of probability tell us that the chance is 1 in ……………………. (however many people entered). You can tell her that her chances aren’t that great, but it would be cool if she won! Maybe she’d look at it as more of a pleasant surprise if she does win. And if she refuses to give up hope – and she loses – well, she’ll just learn it by experience – you did all you could to soften the blow.
