I need decorating advice. Living room is hunter green with brick red chair. I need accent color advice.?

My walls are off white and I am using green and mauves. I need a color change. But, not sure what accent colors for rugs and accessoies will be best. Thanks for any help you can give.
My dining area is open to the living room. What colors should I use in the dining room? My floor in the dining area is wood, and my living room is carpeted in a taupe color.

  1. accent color for green and brick red would definitely be a dark woody brown to tie the two together. Play with various shades of brown and you won’t go wrong.

Using too much green and red can make a room christmasy. Since you have off white on the walls use this as your accent color. Toss a couple plain off white pillows on the couch as well as a couple with a pattern. Be sure that the background color is off white to blend in easier with the plain ones.
As for an area rug, again, you want your background color to be light such as the off white or a cream. Throw a plain colored throw over the edge of the sofa or chair. This makes the room inviting. Continue with the off white in candles and decorative vases.
