www.ntv.co.ke Commercial properties and domestic users who consume large amounts of hot water in their daily operations will now have to adopt solar water heating systems within the next five years. The Energy Regulatory Commission’s Director General Engineer Kaburu Mwirichia says this is necessary to conform with new regulations instituted by the Commission and now backed by Law.The uptake of solar power in the country continues to increase as technology improves pushing down the cost of implementing solar based energy solutions.

  1. Bullshit, just make the solar technology affordable by ensuring there are tax benefits and no duties on solar tech products. And also enable people to feed the energy generated from their solar panels back into the grid and give them credit to reduce eletric bills. That beats yapping about how people cannot use hot water in their homes unless they are forced to get solar power. You can cheaply offer people incentives to achieve the same goal.

  2. Too much Govt in peoples private affairs. who will pay for the cost of putting these systems, especial when the Govt is forcing them to implement these expensive changes.
