  1. I am really confused and cant seem to get any answers. I found some panels for $1 a watt, 225 watt panels, 60 cells x.5=30 volts. I would like to get enough panels, to run my a/c during the day. I dont care about storing extra energy, what is the minimum things that I would need for that, controller, battery, inverters? also, how can I run my 220volt a/c system the cheapest way.?

  2. Let me ask you about getting the max from a grid tie mppt inverter. If its rated at 24 volts 300 watts can you use 3 50 watt 12 volt panels in serial? Wouldnt it suck down the voltage as the sun rises and be ok and perform better in low light til you exceeded 300 watts?

Agreed $170 for 80 watts now, they last 20+ years that is not a rich folks system anymore. We are dual here. 1kw with a GTI when batteries are full and switch to low power output when the lights go out. We are the only yard in the neighborhood with lights during a blackout. I guess we need people like above to keep the power companies in business:-)

  4. So your saying you’d rather be 100% dependent on the power company for electricity? Not even a few panel backup system? Oh well when the power goes off for various reasons e.g. storms, earthquakes, transformer failures, “rolling blackouts” a tree falling on power cables, people who have them will have power while people who don’t will be burning leaves for warmth in there driveway.

  5. Thank you for this video. It is very informative and practical. I’m looking forward to your future videos on photovoltaics.

  6. i bought 2 addional solar panels of 15 watts, totaling 70 watts with that charge controller from harbor freight, and have not noticed a difference is that because that charge controller, is not meant for it? it says 4 amp charge controller how many watts are in 4 amps? if anyone can help me?

  7. Thanks for all the detailed information ,you have a very interesting channel.1OLDJONES

  8. Hello! Thanks a lot for this helpful video. By the way, I hear many people keep on talking about Xobotano Home Energy (google it), but I’m not sure if it’s good. Have you considered this alternative home energy called Xobotano Home Energy? I have heard many extraordinary things about it.

  9. these solar panel projects are a joke – the high cost per panel over the short lifespan makes this a solution only for the rich folks to blow a black hole in their bank account. There hasn’t been a breakthrough in panel design since inception, leaving the average home owner to call for constant repair/replacement of individual cells. Lastly, most panels produce about 10% of their total power during overcast. In theory, to get any benefit, your entire roof needs to be covered with this junk.

  10. Is this a good idea….: (given that so many devices already are 12 voltage) – 24 voltage panel system to 12 voltage battery bank??? (Through MPPT charge controller)??
Thanks for your view on this…

  12. This still surprises me, how lot of people don’t know about Xobotano Home Energy (search on google), despite the fact that lots of people save large sums of money with this alternative energy. Thanks to my friend who told me about Xobotano Home Energy, I have slashes my power bill by 75% in less than 1 month

  13. hi gudmorning can u plz help me i have a 3pcs 200 watts monocrytalline solar panel so im confuse on how to connect them so what is better i will connect them in series or in parallel i have 2pcs 8d deep cycle battery should i connect them olso in parallel?

  14. the name system for these videos are a mess, please be a little tidier so I can actually watch more than one and know what i am watching.

  15. Misunderstood the question, yes, hook it to your battery,if youre gonna run it any distance, you will need heavy gau. wire, like that of a exten.cord.

  16. Did your panel come with clamps, like ones on jumper cables but smaller,if so,you just plug your wire with the clamps to your panel, then hook clamps to battery,At 10 watts you dont need a charge control. If you want to run,say a radio that plugs in,or something like that, you will need an inverter,You can get a cheap one for around 30.00,or if you plan on upgrading your small system, you may want to get a little nicer one.
