‘Behind the Green Box’ is a hard-hitting news investigation into a used clothes collecting charity called ‘Gaia’, and an affiliated volunteer training school called ‘Campus California.’ The story originally aired in December of 2006 on CBS-5 / KPIX-TV in San Francisco. “In this season of giving [December, 2006], a new charity in the Bay Area is welcoming volunteers and clothing donations through its green-colored bins with the friendly ‘Gaia’ label. The organization has since relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area and has continued with its clothes collection operation, which, without an accompanying ‘educational’ program, may contravene its license to operate in California as a non-profit.
