Two environmental organization that I admire very much (and contribute money to) are:
Environmental Defense (ED)
and
Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)
Both groups are active on global warming issues and have many suggestions on simple steps you can take to help the environment.
These groups combine science, economics, and law to work for better environmental policy in the US and worldwide. They’ve been effective because they routinely go to court and sue the government or corporations when environmentally bad decisions are made.
