What is the Energy required to conduct electrolysis?? Is Solar Energy Sufficient?

Hi friends.. We got a little project on photo electrolysis. I wonder whether it really works. And What is the exact amount of energy required to conduct electrolysis and how many solar cells have to be used to conduct electrolysis? If you know don’t hesitate to answer.. I really need this answer as soon as possible. Thanks in advance
Hey guys.. We have to decide whether the project is compatible or not.. By using solar energy whether we can comfortably divide the water particles by electrolysis or not?? If so how many solar cells are needed for comfortable electrolysis. So if u have any idea of that please don’t forget to reply

  1. Depends on what rate of electrolysis you desire. Almost any voltage would be sufficient. Adding salt to water lowers the resistance levels also to make the effects a little more dramatic. Hope this helps.
