With a blue sectional couch, what shade of green paint for living room should I choose?

I have light brown wood floors and white trim, beige paint right now. The only furniture I have is a blue sectional couch by Lane, and I love green…any ideas?

  1. I think that you should paint your walls with purple and green horizontal stripes. That would look cool.

  2. Green would probably be lovely but what green is the key. You need to go to one of the paint company websites such as http://www.behr.com, http://www.sherwin-williams.com or other brands and look at their paint selector/interior design guide. Also HGTV.com has a pick the paint guide….you may have to dig thru their site a bit. Then find your blue and look for a coordinating green in the same intensity range……you know those paint chips you get at the paint store with several shades of the same color on one chip…….find where your color is and try to match the instensity level. Then maybe go up (lighter) a shade.

Or you can take a pillow to the paint store that has an interior design specialist and ash her/him. Plus the bigger stores have a color match machine that can read your color from the pillow and match it and from there you can find your green.

  3. try blue and green broad stripes
the blue to match the couch and your favorite shade of green

  4. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I *love* the color "majolica green" (# 0013). I’m thinking of painting my own living room that color.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they’ll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
