How can I create solar energy for my home?

I am really interested in how I could use solar energy to power certain parts of my house. Or any other types of energy. How could I do this and do I need any special technical skills to do this?

  1. basically what you need is a big investment because the only thing that is the preventing people from using solar energy is the upfront cost but after that the maintenance costs are quite low.
i have a link that might help you to help you find more information.

  2. well you’d have to install a solar panel system. most probably you’d have to hire a technician. Solar power can come at a decently large up-front cost, anything from $2,900 per installation and some residential installations that have reached $46,000!
Read the article in the link below. It should give you a good idea on what you have to do.

  3. At first know more about solar energy
Here is short process of create a solar energy for home:

    1. Buy (or make) yourself a small solar panel
    2. Buy a battery.(rechargeable batteries)
    3. Buy a 12 volt DC meter This will help you monitor the charge in your battery. Discharging it below 50% can damage it. Overcharging it can damage it. Keeping it at about 80%-90% charge will keep your battery well for a long time.
    4. if you want to run AC appliances, you will have to invest in an inverter. This will convert the stored DC power in the battery into AC power for most of your household appliances.

  4. Cheap way. Buy your solar plates. And solider them together yourself. Then build your own collector. Other wise it is still cost prohibitive to do in a home. 20 year pay back time. Or more. Cheapest way. Lay a black hose on the roof. Let the sun heat the water. 1 hot shower a day coming up. 100 foot of hose. I have done this in some places I have been. 1 inch hose. Passive heaters are easy to build. For heat. Plant a tree on the east side of the house. Shade the roof in the summer, when the tree is bare in the winter open the blinds to let the sun in. This will save $400 a year in energy bills. If you have central air. Plant a semi dwarf fruit tree to shade it. Be surprised how much that saves,in the summer. And some free fruit. Keep it trimmed. Plant a pine tree on the N.W. corner. Blocks the wind in the winter. $50 a year in savings. And if you live in a high area, wind. Is becoming cost efficient. 12v. Power a lot of outside lights at night. And attractive. Or a couple of 12v outlets in the home. Battery’s are expensive to maintain.

  5. There are a couple of ways to use solar to reduce the amount of power you buy.

    1) Solar water heating. Solar water heating uses the heat of the sun to preheat your water. As hot water can be up to 1/3 of you power bills, using solar to heat up to 75% of it can greatly reduce your bills. It is the most efficient use of solar for a homeowner

    2) Solar electricity. Solar electric panels can be installed and connected to the electric grid. You don’t have to generate all of the electricity you use, you just make what you can, and buy the rest from the electric company as usual. If you make more than you need during the day, you sell any extra to the electric company, then buy all you need at night. This way you don’t need to deal with batteries.

Both options qualify for a 30% tax credit from the USA federal gov’t, and most states offer additional incentives.
