GIANT parabolic SATELLITE solar dish cannot blind a pilot

This is a frequently asked question. Can a parabolic mirror zap a plane or blind a pilot in the sky. NO they cannot.

  1. @arafetkanso Let it also be made clear that too much heat is NOT what causes global warming. It’s the greenhouse gasses emitted when fossil fuels are burned that causes global warming. Heat alone doesn’t change anything.

  2. @arafetkanso It could stop Global Warming by reflecting the sunlight back into space that would have hit the ground. We need to build 100,000,000,000 more of them and get carbon offsets from Al Gore and become as rich as he is…. I gotta go, need to start building those reflectors…

  3. Nice mirror. Now what are you goin to do with it? Maybe use it to heat a boiler for home heat or something. You could keep the inside of one of your cargo containers nice and warm. By the way, my little ceiling fan motor that I got from you is awsome. I dont get enough wind back here in the woods where I live. It was fun to make also. Thanks for thevideos. (Tom)

  4. @arafetkanso thanks for that comment, I am starting to understand better why some people don’t believe in global warming and green/alternative energy, they just don’t have an understanding of basic science.

  5. Ok, let’s assume that you can possibly blind a pilot. And then what? They’ll hit a tree in the sky!? 😀

  6. @arafetkanso The thing doesn’t generate heat it reflects heat (infrared) from the sun and concentrates it in its focal point. That heat from the sun was already coming to the planet.

  7. @romnsch13 The guy who invented the lens was French, and his last name is, in fact, pronounced “Freh-NELL,” where I capitalized the emphasis. It’s a common mistake, though.

  8. “If a pilot is 6 feet from my satellite dish, my dish would be the least of his worries.”
Thanks a lot, Dan! That line has me laughing so hard, the coffee in my mug was transferred to my wall at great velocity via my nose. Now everything smells like coffee…. which in and of itself isn’t a bad thing.

  9. @JesusDillinger I don’t think that was very nice of you 🙂
He was sitting here, and watching a GreenPowerScience video, so all that stupid he couldn’t have been 😉
Always remember, that while you may be better at logical thinking, he may be the one that will start your heart, one day during a heart attack – we all have our strengths and weaknesses. The important thing is to know which they are 🙂

  10. I would think a parabolic mirror even at the focal point wouldnt be able to damage a plain because of how fast its moving

  11. @romnsch13 West coast nomanclature i guess, (I’m from ca.) But I suppose your right. I argued with a lighting and stage deco guy over this point some years ago,…… I guess I must have looked pretty stupid. lol:)

  12. So easy even a caveman could power A TON OF STUFF! A big stupid dish and an 18th century steam engine…kiss 🙂

  13. Dan. Love watching your experimenting. Looking forward to your next project where you get a large steam engine running off of Solar and have the engine turn a regular generator. Large! Few hundred watts!!!!
